What a holiday weekend! My sister (aka the AWESOME model that lets my creative juices flow!!!) was in town, so, of course, we planned a photo shoot.  She’s into all things vintage, so she brought an assortment of outfits with an older feel.  We were going for different colors, textures, etc.

We had an awesome day on Saturday, getting her hair cut, make up done (we were going for a pin-up sort of look!) by the lovely Brooke at MAC, shopping, and then lots and lots of picture taking.  Our mom even stopped by for the actual photo shoot and fixed Bib’s hair and such.

It was SO much fun…I think that during the holidays, it’s often hard to get creative and shoot for myself when I feel like I should be home editing sessions or not taking any more sessions at all (I had to turn away several families this season because I just couldn’t fit everyone in!).  Anyway, these last few weekends have been really refreshing as I have been able to just relax and spend lots and lots of time with my family.  Lovin’ it!!!

These are some of my faves even though we were just WARMING up!!! Wait till you see the rest! TONS of outfit changes. :) More to come this week…as well as some pics of my last holiday card kiddos tomorrow.

In the next two weeks, I’ll be photographing another wonderful Celebrating Adoption session, some cute older babies, AND an ULTRA creative engagement session. My photographer pal Jen is coming from Washington and we’re gonna get a little cooky creative!!! Wooo hoooooo!!! :)

Have a super day and a big thanks for stopping by. ~m

{my cutie little 4-year-old}

Believe it or not…this particular day she was READY to do a little posing for me. I was totally shocked, and although it lasted about 2.5 minutes, that was all I really needed.

Peach is a terrific kiddo — one thing that I absolutely love about her is that she can be rough and tumble, picking up worms galore with dirt and paint all over her, while insisting on wearing a dress, or something special that reminds her of Cinderella. Too cute.

About 20 minutes after this shoot, she was completely up to her ears in mud. Gotta love it.

Have a super day. ~m

***TODAY is the print and holiday card deadline for those of you wanting to order gift prints and cards for this holiday season!!!*** Orders placed after today are not guaranteed to arrive by the time you’d LIKE to send cards out and will be an extra $15 for rush shipping. Nahhhh…just kiddin’.
Fella informed me that he was a “nice shark” today. :)

And we can’t forget the lovely Cinderella…

We had an awesome Halloween. BARELY had enough light for pics, but we made it work. Cinderella’s hairdo and makeup took a little longer than expected and before I knew it, it was almost time to leave.

Have a super day! I’m off to Prescott for a fantabulous family shoot! Lots of traveling this month. ~m

Couple from a pumpkin patch this weekend.

I have a TOTAL thing for pumpkins.  When I taught, my second graders and I were crazy about pumpkins for the whole month of October.  We measured, estimated, drew, wrote stories about, read stories about, ate seeds….the list goes on and on.  :)   So, yeah, I love pumpkins and fall!  We’re even going to another patch this weekend, so be on the lookout for more orange on this blog.  :)

I’ve been working like crazy cakes getting some awesome birth announcements ready for the latest new moms (and moms-to-be) out there.  Sometime Friday I should have a link to all of you so you can check them out!  Sneak peek tomorrow though.  :)

Have a super day.  ~m

::new john deere::

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Fella is the proud recipient of a mini John Deere metal tractor (+ trailer in the rear!).  Although he’s still a bit too young to reach the pedals correctly, we make do!  :)

There’s a little back car that he sits in while Peach pedals, or we just give him a push of his own.  :)

I’m sure you’ll be seeing this green machine in some kid or family pictures…I love the size and vivid color and kids love it, too!

Someday soon, I’ll have to post some pics of my growing prop collection.  Much to my husband’s dismay, I seem to be taking over the garage.   :)

Have a great one!   ~m

The summer is coming to an end, so we had to document a eating favorite (outside & messy) fruit in our household.

And a BIG ****Happy Birthday**** to our big two-year-old guy (my little baby!) today.   He is such a little joy: smart, funny, playful, loving, and EXTRA cute!  :)

Have a terrific day!   ~m

Had a celebratory afternoon (that morphed into evening) at the train park for the little guy’s upcoming 2nd birthday.  Apparently, he “choo-chooed” the entire ride with his arm a-pumpin’.

We love him so.  :)

Have a great rest of your weekend!  ~m

Of course, she chose the kitty.  :)   The kitty with glitter for an extra $1.

Giving a little “meow” to her little bro.  I *love* her expression & even though you can’t see the little guy’s face, you can tell by his cheeks that he’s beaming.

Have a fun weekend!   ~m
