Cutie Pie and her Lollipop

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

These pics are from my session with the F family the other day.  When I got together with Mom to choose pics, she decided to go the storyboard route, which is an 10×20 mounted picture, showcasing several images from the photo shoot.  She picked these herself and did an awesome job!   I think little D looks sooo cute…and you can definitely see her spunky personality, which is what this is all about.

All kiddos that have a session with me get a rainbow-colored lollipop (with parent permission prior to our meeting, of course).  I’ve noticed a) it makes for some incredibly colorful and fun shots  b) it’s something for the kids to work for as the session goes on — what kiddo doesn’t like a sweet reward? c) it’s something different and fun — you probably don’t have a picture of your child with anything like this at your home!  and d) kids and families really loosen up and start acting like themselves.  I get some incredible “real” interactions at this point, which I love.

Thanks for reading & be on the lookout for some dance shots of my sis in the next day or two.  Until then, I’m busy editing and taking pics!

One Blue-Eyed Princess and her Family :)

Even though the weather was gray and gloomy (SO strange for AZ!), I had a super time following around the ultra-chic B family as they were just, well, themselves!  The love they share and exhibit is contagious.  I smiled the whole time as they explored, played and posed together.  And boy did T enjoy (and deserve) that lollipop!  Thanks for being patient, J!  I know you have been SO curious!!!   Can’t wait to show you the rest.    ~m

Better give Big Bro a little room on this page, too!

The Fantabulous F Family

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

What a treat to spend the afternoon with the F family.  They were hilarious and kind.  Loving and playful.  It’s always so fun for me to watch both parents interact with the kiddos and watch the silliness happen.  We have some cute “posed” images for your Christmas card, but I wanted to post things here that were a bit different.  Thanks for letting me be a part of your day, guys, and Happy Thanksgiving!   ~m

The border looks strange on this one, but I know you’re waiting to see these…hope you like!!!  :)

I had to add this one last minute.   By Friday, I’ll probably get sooo excited and post all your images.  :)

Nah.  Got to give you something to look forward to.   Glad we got some pics of your girls together, J.  I know that was something you wanted!

Sherry, don’t worry, you’re next, girlie!     ~m

The K Family

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Oh what fun we had together on Sunday!  These two super fun girls ran around the ASU campus, exploring every nook and cranny, with their mom, dad and me trailing behind.  They were full of smiles and their little legs didn’t stop moving — it was energetic and spontaneous, exactly what one would hope for in a photo shoot.  I hope you guys enjoy these.  I love how different all these images are (and there are SO many more!).   I can’t wait to show you all my absolute faves in person.   See you all soon!     ~m

One more…V Family

The shirt says it all.    I think I figured out how to get pics a little bigger thanks to my pal Jen.  :)   Thanks, girl!!!

First Up…The V Family

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

What a fun time we had on Saturday morning.  I’ve been going through their images for the last couple days and it’s just so hard to pick my favorites!  The kiddos are just too cute, and once little A warmed up, they all were thrilled to be out running around at the marketplace.  They were so loving and sweet with their parents — I loved being able to capture their sweet sides, sweet teeth (loving the lollipops), and active little bodies!  What a gorgeous fam…thanks for being my first family photoshoot guinea pigs.  :)     ~m

At long last a real blog!   A place to view pictures of our family, friends, and clients of Maggie McDonald Photography.  I’ve had some incredible photo shoots this last week and can’t wait to get all of this going.  Feel free to comment and let me know what you think!

Here’s a pic of our family, taken a couple weeks ago by my dear friend, Srilu Viene! (thanks, girl!)    ~m
