Had a super fun session with the F Family.  We ran around and around!  The kiddos were super fun and sweet and just loved exploring, which *so* reminds me of my kiddos (pretty much the same age spread).

Gotta love those little feet + classy girly shoes.

Couldn’t decide which version I liked best….so here’s both.

***Don’t want to give any sneak peeks of possible family holiday card shots, so I’m keeping those secret for now.  :)   ***

Have a super day.   ~m

SOOO many more from this session with cute baby J. I’ve been super busy with sessions, editing, & being a mom…LoTS to share from recent sessions, just not enough time in the day to narrow down all my choices. :)

I just ordered some “props” for newborn sessions, so be on the lookout for some interesting items appearing on the blog!

I am totally booked for the holiday season (wooo hooo!)! IF you’re looking to get holiday pictures taken, please email me and I’ll put you on a wait list for a session. There are always openings for newborns, however. I always allow extra time for the little cuties.

Celebrating Adoption sessions are booked for November and December. If you’d like to schedule one for January let’s chat!

If you’re looking for a session for 2009, give me a jingle! I’m currently booking sessions for the new year (AND selling gift certificates for the new year, too!). Please send me an email at and we’ll get you in OR get a gift certificate to you in the mail! What an awesome gift for someone special.

I have some exciting news to share soon about an awesome opportunity in November! If you’re in the Phoenix area, keep November 6th open (4-8pm) for something VERY special.

Have a super rest of your weekend. ~Maggie

:::Checklist for the perfect girly picture:::

1.  fluffy pettiskirt

2.  pink purse WITH sequins

3.  long strand of foxy beads

4.  cute little look at mom

5.  vintage chair to add a little character

6.  shabby outdoor background to add a touch of flair

7. a little sunlight in the hair

I think she’s got it all!!!

***I usually bring several things to photo sessions, and mom was pleasantly surprised when I pulled out this petti.  As soon as I brought it out, she came up with R’s purse and beads from the car.  Unplanned, but terrifically perfect.  LOVED it!!!  :)

R was sooooo cute in the skirt!  :)

Have a terrific weekend!   ~m

just a peek!

I have been working around the clock to get some stylin’ announcements ready for all the amazing families I’ve worked with lately with new babies!

Here’s my latest fav (with some older pics <–this cutie is sitting up now and I get to photograph her family in a couple weeks!):

What I love about this announcement: it has a touch of whimsy with the doodles, texture with the background, natural colors, unusually fun framed images…it’s just TOO CUTE! :)

I’ll send a link shortly to those families with new babies to see the rest of this collection — you’ll just LOVE them! :)

Have a great day. ~m

Couple from a pumpkin patch this weekend.

I have a TOTAL thing for pumpkins.  When I taught, my second graders and I were crazy about pumpkins for the whole month of October.  We measured, estimated, drew, wrote stories about, read stories about, ate seeds….the list goes on and on.  :)   So, yeah, I love pumpkins and fall!  We’re even going to another patch this weekend, so be on the lookout for more orange on this blog.  :)

I’ve been working like crazy cakes getting some awesome birth announcements ready for the latest new moms (and moms-to-be) out there.  Sometime Friday I should have a link to all of you so you can check them out!  Sneak peek tomorrow though.  :)

Have a super day.  ~m

::pocket dad::

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Dad:  These shorts are okay…I mean, you’re not going to take pics of them, right?

Me:  Oh, you’re fine!

Our conversation sounded about like that.  :)   And honestly, I wasn’t going to take pics of the shorts (I don’t usually!), but MAN, what a great image of this casual first-time dad, hand in pocket, just holding and gazing at his 6-day-old daughter.  How could I resist?
So here’s a different take on the baby in dad’s arms shot that every mom and dad wants.  *It’s my most popular request.  :)

Have a great day!  ~m

.all things vintage.

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Lucky for me, my mom loves to antique.  Ever since I can remember, I’ve heard the squeal “antiiiiiiiques” when we’ve passed a new store somewhere.  Now we just squeal whenever we see an antique store because it’s funny.  :)

Anyway,  I definitely benefit from her love for all things vintage and now the kiddos and I enjoy accompanying her every once in a while.  I got a call one weekend about 4 months ago, from my mom in Show Low.  She found this fun wagon and wanted to know if I was interested….YEAH!!!!!!!   She brought it over later that weekend and it sat in my garage until today…it’s been waiting for the perfect kiddo. :)

I love when clients want to think out of the box with me.  I knew the P family had a large yard with trees, so I mentioned the wagon to the mom via email several days ago and she was definitely interested.  After our typical indoor photoshoot this morning/afternoon, we ventured outside, found some shade and a lovely tree, and mom put a bundled up little guy into the wagon.  He took our breath away.  :)

What’s even more fun, is that little J is swaddled up in his daddy’s old blankie.  Mom said she wanted to incorporate the blanket into the shoot somehow and I thought it’d be perfect here.

Isn’t he just precious???  :)

And a more traditional image — love his hands and strong gaze.  The little guy was really awake for the beginning.  Mom worked SUPER hard to get him to sleep for a bit and then he was O.U.T. OUT!

G–I had an awesome time with your fam today.  Can’t wait to show you the rest.   :)

Have a super day.   ~m

[the warm-up]

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

At first, little ones usually aren’t too sure about me and the strange clicking contraption that I have in my hands.  I get incredible, real stares like this one!  [I love her piercing blue eyes, curls, and soft, feminine coloring.]

Little N was fast to warm up though!  She fed the cows and then had fun walking around with mom and dad.

Later, she was so curious, she even got to press a couple buttons on my camera.  Made her day!  :)

Have a great rest of your weekend!  ~m

{in mommy’s arms}

Friday, October 10th, 2008

I met with this adorable little lady this morning.  We played a little peek-a-boo, sang some songs & brought out lots of fun toys.

You wanna know what she really wanted to do?  Hang out with mom.

A new place and a new person (with a ginormous camera) wasn’t really what she had in mind, so we made do.  The photo session (minus a couple lucky shots!) was pretty much done in mom’s arms, which was 100% okay with all of us.  :)

Mom and daughter are being playful –I love that you can see her tooth (only one!) and long eyelashes.  :)   Wait till you see her little diva outfit and accessories…coming soon!

Have a great day.  ~m
