JEN is in town!!! :) We’ve been nerding out in front of our computer screens, comparing editing tips, viewing images, and discussing plans for tomorrow (a BIG day!).

*Two morning photo shoots with little babies.
*Afternoon photo shoot with my kiddos
*Dinner with Tams :)

AND then on Friday, we have a SUPER coolio engagement session planned. Can’t wait!

Sorry no pic….wait till manana! ~m

I’ve been waiting to edit these two images since the session, but MADE myself do other *more important* things before I got to them…ahhh…isn’t my sis stunning? I love how the curves of her figure contrast with all the straight lines in the images. Plus, the door, lanterns…everything seems larger than life, and there she is, looking regal amidst it all.

I’ve started working with a new wide angle lens that is QUITE fun…just getting used to it though, so it only comes out of my bag for a couple minutes a session…this was one of those minutes!

I’m excited to show you more…there are literally hundreds more that I love from this shoot….if only there was enough TIME in the day. :)

Have one fantastic day. ~m

{my VERY OWN sneak peek}

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

A sneak peek to our family Christmas cards, that is! :) Because I’ve been so busy I JUST got them to the printer (I got two calls a couple days ago to design some last minute cards for clients, so I’ve been burning the 3am oil!!!).

You.just.wait!!! ALL pics were taken in the garage, of my own very unwilling kiddos…until i brought out a fake Christmas tree and had them decorate. Then the fun began and they forgot I was there.

{Forgetting the photographer is there is a GOOD thing}

I LOVE having a little prop or something special for each session I do — even if it IS just a lollipop at the end of a session. For the kiddos, a prop, sweet treat (at the end) OR something fun that mom and I collaborate on, makes sessions exciting & fresh. Capturing exciting candid expressions is what I long for. :)

For my own kiddos on that afternoon, I thought out of the box, changed things up on them a bit, and it was a total hit. Can’t wait for you to see their cuteness (but you WILL have to wait a bit — wouldn’t want to spoil it)!

Have a great day! ~m

look what I found…

jOy | Celebrating Adoption Session

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

:::Check out this joy!!! :) I love how her eyes are closed as she giggles and giggles when her big brother pushes her.:::

Six months ago, the D family was forever changed when little Selina came home with them from Ghana. I don’t even know where to begin with their incredible story, so I’ll point you to [their family blog] so you can read about their adoption experience. Not only did this family bring Selina home, but they are constantly reaching out to help other children back in Africa. Reading Jen’s blog has truly been eye-opening and I hope you’ll check it out.

I feel so fortunate that I was asked to capture their love through a Celebrating Adoption session, and that’s exactly what we did!!! Soooo much love! :)

Stay tuned for another sneak peek in the next week of this awesome fam — there are so many images that I love!!!

Have a super day. ~m

Remember when I went up to Sedona to take pics for some combined families??? This is the result of getting all the grandkids together with grandma and grandpa. They just ooze cuteness!!! I love their REAL smiles…even the little baby on grandpa’s lap.

Have a fun-filled Saturday! ~m

Isn’t the sign just perfecto??? :) Love the mood, setting, perfect belly, gorgeous prego gal…it just all fits.

Okay, now you’ve got to change gears. No more workshop. Think calm, peaceful, slow-moving stream, the sound of water passing over rocks, leaves on the bank, rustling in the wind…

And lastly…

You are such a beauty, T, and just radiate with that gorgeous belly of yours! :) Thanks for trusting me and workin’ it for the camera…can’t wait to meet the little fella.

Have a lovely day. ~m
