[fever, but FUN]

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Little B was just not feeling well for our session. He TRIED…that’s for sure. AND was darn cute even though he had a fever… :)

I love this image because it truly captures life {as I see it} as a 1 year old. Those interested little explorers (with those legs that suddenly work!!!) always pull at my heart strings. His left hand is SO cute. :)

He’s so lucky to have such a sweet big sis (who, by the way, worked it for the camera!!!). :)

And two amazingly f-u-n parents. We laughed a LOT today.

Thanks you guys for such a fun afternoon — many, many more super fun images to come! :) Have a great day. ~m

And I am off to Philly to meet with 20-something other photographers from all over the US! It’s an awesome opportunity to network and learn from each other. I can’t WAIT! :) I miss my fam already though…

The “office” will be closed through Wednesday. I’ll return all calls and emails on Thursday! I don’t know what internet will be like where I’m staying, so HOPEFULLY I’ll keep you updated. ~m

{1} the big bday bash

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

I have known this little cutie since we did late newborn pics together (3 months old!). I love being able to spend time with her every couple months (here’s a link to her 6 month session)…what a fun girl and awesome family!

{on dad’s phone}

Today was her big, circus themed birthday bash, complete with clowns, games, a jumper, popcorn, and real live cotton candy and nacho machines (can you tell I was impressed?)! I heard about this party date at least 6 months ago — it was a BIG deal!

I have TONS more, of course, but wanted to give just a couple teasers. :) Isn’t her outfit adorable? Wait till you see the next one!!! :)

Have a great day!

[technical difficulties]

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

I’ve been trying to post a blog from LATE last night, but my Photoshop is acting alllll wonky (taking FORever to save!) so you’ll have to wait just a little longer.

My post = First Bday party for a little CUTIE!

Off to a photo shoot and I’ll try to get the pics up in a bit.

Have a glorious rest of your weekend!

could he get ANY cuter?

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

This little man is as sweet as he is handsome. :) He was carrying around these little block letters that spelled his name, so I thought it was only fitting that we get some images with him and his letters!

Crazy busy weekend — you’ll be seeing some sneak peeks soon from two weekend sessions! Thennnn I’m off on a mini-trip!

Have a great day! ~m

I LOVE that this family was willing to try something out of the box! :) I always try to bring a variety of “props” to sessions — I’ve brought this adorable wagon to many newborn sessions and this fam jumped on it right away — woo hooo! I was *SO* excited to finally use it with a newborn, and when mom suggested using the multi-colored blanket, it really made everything complete.

LOVE client input soooo SO much. :)

Have a super day. ~m

:::Availability Update:::
ONE weekend session available for March.
Only a couple weekend sessions left for April!

If you want to schedule a spring session, let me know as soon as possible and we’ll get you on the calendar before it gets incredibly hot around here!

There’s nothing better than pictures of your children, your family, or your growing belly. I love celebrating colorful lives! :)

|the littlest|

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

The littlest JUST so happens to be a girl. She’s going to be SO well taken care of by her 3 older brothers. :)

I added some texture to this image because my VERY FAVORITE part is where brother J is patting her on the head. Texture, as I learned at my Jesh de Rox workshop a month or so ago, really brings focus to areas of an image. In this example, the slightly colored textures I used took a lot of the bright white out of the blanket AND made the background less interesting. It gives it a fun/different/funky vibe, which I love! Can’t wait to practice more with textures when I have time (<—hmmm….it’ll be a while!).

Have a super day! ~m

He was so brave! This tree had many thorns and he jumped right in there and started climbing. :)

LOVE kiddos in their own element. :) Have a fantastic day! ~m
