I think images with grandparents and grandkids are so special! :)
Love all the emotion here — especially the tenderness between grandpa and grandma.

Have a lovely day. ~m

[the letter project -- l,x]

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I had fun looking for letters in my surroundings a couple weeks ago — these two were found in my backyard. :) I am part of an online project where we each have a couple letters to find and then we’ll share, in order to have the whole alphabet…how fun is that???

Still looking for K, but found an extra W and Y along the way, so things are looking up. :) [promise I'll show those at a later date!!!]

My goal now is to find all on my own…it’s going to take a LOOooooNG while though. It’s funny how you see the world around you when you’re looking for something specific! :)

Have a wonderful week. ~m

This handsome little guy was born just six days ago. What a little sweetie!

Here he is in a blankie that his grandma made for him. I think it’s really fun when families have blankets, hats, or outfits that mean something to them photographed. Keeps my job interesting AND I love seeing what beautiful pieces these families have. :)

Look at those newbie feet! :)

I *love* photographing this family. They’re so carefree, fun, & in love! Remember our fun maternity shoot??? They’re so relaxed in front of the camera and really can let that guard down and enjoy the moment.

I got some of my FAVORITE images EVER today when we decided to brave outdoors with the little guy for a couple minutes…you’ll have to stay tuned to see some sneak peeks of those. {colorful blanket, wagon, outside, bundled baby, happy family…can’t get much better than that!}

Have a great rest of your weekend! ~m

Peachie could be outside all day, every day. While she IS a girly girl (loves pink, princesses, jewels, make up, etc) she is also a bug enthusiast + rough and tumble girl. Isn’t it great that one kid can be everything? :)

Hope you’re having a lovely Valentine’s Day! I’m off to meet a new little one & can’t wait! :) ~m

{after bath}

Friday, February 13th, 2009

After a bath, my two. They just make me smile and I can’t BELIEVE how much they’re growing up. :)

Had an awesome night out with two very new and incredible photog friends — practicing a little off camera flash (GASP!!!) in the depths of downtown. :) Definitely hard for me to break free from my comfort zone, BUT loads of fun experimenting.

In other news, the choir concert I posted about [here] is sold out for tonight!!! That’s so fun! :) Hopefully Sunday will sell out, too! Can’t wait to see some peeps there…

I’m going to be taking a trip soon (east coast!!!) — completely photography related — that I’m super excited about! AND I’m second shooting a wedding in March, which will be a blast! Lots going on around here…

Have a good one. ~m

your art/your home

I love working with clients to come up with a way to display their images that works the best for them. When one of my most recent clients said that she wanted several gallery wrapped canvas on her walls, we took it to the next level and I was able to show her what that looked like.

After talking about the process in person at her viewing appointment, she created a list of her absolute favorites in her ordering cart (I love this feature!) and then I took her top choices and made wall gallery samples for her! In 24 hours, I put together various combinations of her top images into her online gallery. This happens to be the one she selected…

{shown here are 36×24 and 16×24 gallery wrapped canvas of her beautiful children}

Ultimately, she decided on ordering two of the more artsy, unposed images for her living room. These images will never need replacing, yet will show her children at this time in their lives. They will be definite conversation pieces!!!

Selecting images, how to display them, what sizes to get, etc. can seem a little overwhelming. I feel very grateful that clients trust my opinion when it comes to decorating their homes with the thing they love the most — their family. That’s what I’m here for. :)

I seriously can’t WAIT to see these up on her walls!

Have a super day. ~m

Ahhhh…I just LOVE this beautiful momma and her girls — they were SO much fun to photograph. I couldn’t have asked for more!

I was planning on posting an entirely different set of images from this session today, but these two together just pulled at my heart strings. I have lots and lots more of this awesome family, so stay tuned…

Have a super day! ~m

*I wanted to mention that I am currently booking sessions in March — February is packed and March is getting more full every day! If you’d like to have a session this spring, this is a great time to reserve your date! I have some SUPER fun things going on in the next couple months that I can’t wait to share with you. :)

{life as art}

I love this image of C. Before this was taken, she was having so much fun piling rocks into a little circle, a game her momma created on the spot so I’d have some time to take some images of mom and dad.

When our mini parent session was over, C got to take allllll the rocks she had piled and throw them down into the river. Plunk. Plink. Plop. She smiled and giggled as each and every rock hit the water. What awesome fun. :)

I love this look AFTER. After the games had been played, the rocks had been thrown, she is just walking. Minding her own little 4-year-old business, taking in the beauty around her.

I had originally chosen several images to showcase with this, but honestly, think her little cuteness deserves a post of its own. Some images stand alone better, I think.

Have an incredible day! ~m
