[last year vs. this year] | Colleyville Family Photography

I have to say, that last year, the photo session with these kiddos was H.A.R.D!!! I’ve known these two forever, so that didn’t help our difficult situation BUT we made it work (after two photo sessions and literally having mom not come along to worry the second time) and came up with some great, fun portraits.

THIS year, however, was a different story. As soon as my camera came out, they fell into each other with hugs and stares — it was an all-around love fest. Mom and I were shocked, and excited, and I’m SO thrilled I could capture their love for each other. We all see these fleeting moments with our children and I feel so fortunate that they wanted to share this side of their personalities with me!

{SERIOUSLY, one of my favorite all-time images….do you prefer color or b/w???}

So, here are a couple of the B kiddos…and all their cuteness.

OH…and one of their fam…running…and my BFF is probably going to kill me for this (and then love me for getting the images above!). ;)

Have an awesome Halloween! Off to get some pics of my cuties in fake costumes…and then their real ones after that. You’ll see what I mean… ;) ~mm

This little one was so much fun to photograph. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was — whether her spunk reminded me of my daughter at that age, or how she just lit up when mom or dad were playing with her. She also had a quiet sense about her and loved to explore her surroundings. I LOVE meeting her kiddos and watching their personalities unfold throughout sessions!

LOVE the essence of this playful family. :)

Can’t wait to show you the rest, m! :)
Have a great one — and my NEW thing is to not be such a stranger on here! I’ve almost wrapped up my Phoenix session editing, so I have some time to function now. Hah! ;)

isn’t she just ADORABLE??? i mean SO darn adorable??? :)

There’s nothing like a BIG wake up call (from the bajillion hours holed up editing at home) than ANOTHER session.  :)   I had an incredible time with the M family this afternoon.  Mom contacted me a while back and had so many great ideas off the bat — I just knew we would have a fab time together.  Mom not only brought her SUPER sweet little lady, and husband, BUT she brought loads of cute clothes, too.  How can a session go wrong when there’s a red pettiskirt, floral hat, and a delicious lollipop involved?  Answer:  it just can’t!

I just couldn’t possibly post another pic with this one (because I love this so much!) so stay tuned to the blog in the next couple days for more of this cutie.

I PROMISE I’ll get more Phoenix sessions up here, too! I’ve been editing like a maniac and neglecting the blog a bit lately. I have put some images up on Facebook, however, SO join the “Maggie McDonald Photography Fan Page” and sometimes (okay, usually!) you’ll see images quicker than the blog!

Have a great one.

I met with this fabulous family this morning (AND 2 days prior to that AND we had another date scheduled, too). The weather just hadn’t been cooperating (including tornado sirens DURING our Thursday attempt)…until today. We finally got that lovely sun and dry ground we’d been hoping for. :)

I know how much time it takes to get two children ready for a portrait session a AND we met twice, so I was thrilled when we were finally able to get some super fun candid images of their sweet love. There was lots of laughter and snuggles during this session — SO glad we finally got to spend some time together! :)

I’ll be in touch, M, with your images soon! Thank you for letting me capture your wonderful fam today and for being so patient with the unpredictable weather.

Have a beautiful day!
