Family moments captured! | Fort Worth Family Photography

{Gorgeous kiddos!}

This three-session smile marathon with four couples and their families was speedy, yet SO awesomely productive. :) These family members drove down from Mississippi and Ohio and I was thrilled to be able to be there to preserve their family history! I have so many portraits of our family growing up, especially with grandparents, and I adore them.

I absolutely love capturing family love. I know I’ve said this before, but ever since my father-in-law passed away a year and a half ago, I see SO much value in extended family portraits. I always wish we had just one more portrait with Jay and our family, or Jay and my kiddos.

It was an honor to be asked to capture this sisterly love, too!

Hope you have a fantastic day!

TRIPLE dose of adorable! | Maggie McDonald Photography | Dallas / Fort Worth Child Photographer

May 5th, 2011

When we FIRST moved to Texas, I met the momma of this family via a fun Parks and Rec course for our older kiddos.  It was fun to see a familiar face daily and because we were both “fresh” to Texas, there was lots to talk about — favorite restaurants, preschools, classes, kid activities, the latest LeapFrog movie.  :)  I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph them twice now!  This time, they had loads of family in from out of state, so we worked together to get some extended family portraits, as well as individual family and child portraits.  We zipped straight past the getting-to-know you stage and right to this :
{LOVE those missing teeth}

The M kiddos are SOOOO adorable with an extra dose of sweetness.  We see them quite often (softball, Daisies) and it’s always a running hug for me from one little lady, and big grins with “hello, Miss Maggie” from the others.

I can’t WAIT to show them the rest of their portraits…ALMOST done editing. :)

Hope you have a lovely, sunny day!

{SWING TIME! — love little sis in the background}

I had fun meeting these three siblings and their mom at home last week.  Mom wanted casual portraits with her children doing what they do best  – being themselves.  :)  That involved relaxing, jumping on the trampoline, sliding, swinging, AND some bubble play.  :)  Sessions at home are easy-peasy for kiddos that might not be comfortable in a new setting and for this fam, it worked out great!

{Big Brother was ready to go — so easy to photograph!}

and lastly…oh man is she cute!!!

What a beautiful family!  Thanks so much for choosing me to capture these at-home moments…it was FUN!

Hope you have a lovely day!

I had the pleasure of photographing the wonderful B Family.  They got out of the car all smiles, ready for a fun-filled session.  I loved their playfulness and togetherness as we explored new places.

AND I just loved mom’s perfect baby bump.  :)

Many, many more LOVELY portraits that I can’t wait to share.

Hope you have a super weekend…

:::::  Glorious morning sun + a field with bluebonnets + handsome little 8 weeker = total bliss!!!  :::::

I had a lovely time yesterday with little S and his beautiful mom.  I was SO fortunate to be able to capture her pregnancy {here} so take a look!

Isn’t he the most precious little guy?  He was on his very best behavior and was perfectly content hanging out in mom’s arms and watching the leaves move in the trees above him.  Couldn’t have asked for a better session.  :)

Spring photo sessions are booking quickly!  Make sure to get on the calendar before it gets too hot around these parts.  ;)

Can’t wait for all the upcoming sessions!

Hope you have a lovely rest of your day.

a golden lake kind of afternoon :: dallas/fort worth senior photographer

April 4th, 2011

Ahhh…I just love the golden hour, and couple that with a smiley, spunky, sweet high school senior who loves to be outdoors, I’m instantaneously giddy!

I had a lovely time with L, her mom and BFFs as we explored some urban goodness and then the beauty of Lewisville Lake.

SO so many more stunning portraits that I cannot WAIT to share.  :)

Hope you have a lovely afternoon!!!

flavor: a life saver shoot! | Push52 | dallas / fort worth photography

February 5th, 2011

Oh boy, it’s been FOREVER!!!  I intend to blog week after week, but the cuddles and book reading with the kiddos have been getting the best of me.  ESPECIALLY this last week, where school was canceled a whopping FOUR DAYS in a row!

So, here I am,  all ready to blog some images I shot this eve for a fun project/challenge called Push52.  This week’s word was: flavor, so I decided to photograph these round, colorful and tasty Life Savers. :)

I couldn’t resist some kid fingers in there.  :)

My favorite flavor.  :)

And just to give you an idea of what’s been going on around here lately…

I’m working on a little book of our February adventures, prompted by the daily topics via Willette’s The Joy of Love class.  This was Day 01, where I was to photograph “what they do.”  I *totally* lucked out because both the kiddos were busy at the same time — SHE: making a valentine for her Mimi and Papa (LOVES art!),  HE: playing Star Wars (major phase right now).

I have some SUPER action sledding shots to blog from yesterday…keep your eyes peeled.

Hope you have a lovely day!  Lots an LOTS of upcoming adventures and exciting stuff happening with Maggie McDonald Photography — can’t wait to fill you in!

January 17th, 2011

I am fortunate to be part of a {fun little group of gals} who are shooting creatively, for us, once a week for the next year.  We have a word a week and it’s been awesome to brainstorm, to shoot, to process & to see what each person reveals!  I’m having a blast, using lenses I don’t normally shoot with, and using light and settings in ways not typical for my style.  It’s fun to learn and grow and it’s only WEEK TWO!  :)

So this week’s word was :: addiction.  I have this thing about glasses.  Annnnd it must be an addiction if I feel like I need a new pair (or three).  ;)

IMG_4999webI have to admit that before the shoot I had a flashlight out. looking under the couches for a couple pairs that I hadn’t seen in a while…and SCORE…found a pair!   :)

Hope you have a lovely week!

gorgeous momma-to-be + her benry ;) | dallas / fort worth maternity photographer

January 4th, 2011

I met up with this stylin’ gal yesterday (and our FUN friend, Savanah, who just so happens to be my awesome hair stylist!) for a KILLER maternity session!  They both work at the popular Scott LeMaster Salon in Irving which has EVERYTHING a gal could ever want/need in the “get beautiful” department.  Seriously love getting pampered there.

“Benry” is the nickname her pals have given the little guy that is forever poking her ribs, kicking, and growing in her cute belly.  We definitely had some laughs about his nickname.  :)

Anyway, we had a blast being creative in several outdoor spaces and really soaked the moment up, capturing C’s little bump and gorgeous “glow.”    I was totally blown away by her beauty and the way she could make pregnancy look so chic!

I especially loved all her carefully thought out outfits, full of color, texture, accessories, and quite the selection of boots!

Thank you SO very much, C and S, for being a part of such an inspiring, creative afternoon…it just flew by and I literally cannot stop editing these because they are SO MUCH FUN! :) Seriously, I never post this many!!!

And lastly, here’s a shot with an incredible new lens I recently purchased. I’ve been loving the dreamy effect this lens produces and have been so excited about this upcoming session so I could really practice using it! It involves a whole new set of skills to learn and master, so I’ve been experimenting a ton! I love the emotion it captures, especially in maternity photography, and to me, there’s nothing more perfect than a momma-to-be enjoying her belly with the golden sun at her back and the wind in her hair!
blogcl2Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

December 2nd, 2010

Yep, a holiday session in costumes! Can my smile ANY bigger??? :) Those that really know me, knoooow that I love sessions that are different. A place or concept that is not “typical” really fuels me! :)

When I originally spoke with mom about her ideas a month or so ago, I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of this shoot. I loved the rich fabrics and accessories for each costume and most importantly, the confidence that kiddos showed me when they hopped out of their car was awesome.

{Lovely costumes & delicious lollis!}

Is this family fun or whaaaat? :)

I can’t WAIT to show mom all the incredible images we got…so many stunning, casual portraits!
Hope you have one lovely day!
